HMI AND EMBEDDED UI
HMI and UI projects for embedded devices
We design interfaces for embedded devices, operator panels, self-service systems and applications connected to a physical device.
We treat HMI as part of the system — designing it with the device logic, system states, hardware constraints and real user working conditions in mind.
Some projects are covered by NDA.
HMI
We design HMI as part of the device system
The project scope can include:
- information architecture and screen structure
- user workflows
- state machines and interaction logic
- system messages and error handling
- UI/UX design for touchscreens and operator panels
- adapting the interface to hardware constraints
- documentation for the development team
- implementation support
- in selected projects, HMI implementation on the target device
HMI can be a standalone project scope or part of a complete device software system delivered by Renau Digital.
SELECTED HMI PROJECTS

HMI • UI/UX • EMBEDDED • QSR
HMI operator panel for a foodservice device
Operator interface design for a foodservice device working in an intensive QSR environment.
The scope covered information architecture, interaction logic, screen structure and an HMI design prepared for an embedded environment.

UI/UX • EMBEDDED • WEB • MOBILE
ARGUS monitoring and control system
UI/UX architecture for an embedded system monitoring and controlling a terrarium environment.
The scope covered information architecture, data-presentation logic, monitoring and configuration modules, and consistency across the mobile and web applications.

HMI • UI/UX • EMBEDDED • SELF-SERVICE • RETAIL
UI/UX for a self-service vending system
User interface design for a vending system operating in a retail and self-service environment.
The scope covered screen architecture, user scenarios and interaction logic for a self-service device.
View projectHMI IN A REAL ENVIRONMENT
A device interface must reflect its real state
In embedded systems, the interface does not operate independently from the device. It must respond to events, sensor data, process state, errors and the technical limitations of the platform.
- device states and transitions between them
- emergency scenarios
- responses to incomplete or incorrect data
- communication with firmware and the embedded layer
- CPU, RAM and display-resolution constraints
- operator working conditions
- time needed to complete key actions
DEVICE SOFTWARE
Need more than HMI?
Renau Digital can also take responsibility for complete device software — from embedded systems and hardware integration, through operating logic and HMI, to backend and service tools.
