touch interface control panel foodservice device QSR

UI/UX control system for a foodservice device (QSR / Embedded)

UI/UX project for a foodservice device used in quick service restaurants (QSR). The goal was to replace analog control with a modern, intuitive touch interface adapted to a high-speed kitchen environment. The project covered interface architecture, screen logic and interaction flow for an embedded device.

DESIGN CHALLENGE

The traditional analog panel limited operational ergonomics and future feature growth. The system required redesign to simplify program selection, improve readability in intensive kitchen conditions, reduce user errors, shorten reaction time and support operators with different experience levels. The interface had to be optimized for touchscreen usage and embedded constraints.

USER INTERFACE DESIGN

We designed a clear product selection screen focused on ergonomics, speed and operational safety.

  • large, high-contrast touch targets
  • clear icons for fast recognition
  • minimal steps to start a program
  • logical function grouping
  • usable with work gloves and reduced visibility

OPERATING MODEL AND PROCESS READABILITY

The active process screen was reduced to essential elements to minimize cognitive load and lower operational error risk during intensive work.

  • clear, dominant timer
  • unambiguous current program state
  • large STOP button for quick response
  • readable presentation of operating parameters

SCOPE OF WORK

The project included:

  • user needs analysis in a foodservice environment
  • information architecture design
  • UI design for an embedded system
  • interface component design
  • screen logic and state optimization
  • production-ready implementation handoff

IMPLEMENTATION OUTCOME

Replacing analog control with a modern digital system simplified device operation, increased interface readability, reduced user errors and created a scalable architecture for future feature growth. The project is a practical example of UI/UX design for industrial and foodservice B2B devices.

Summary

The project is an example of integrating UI/UX, embedded systems and operational logic in a B2B retail model.

Designing a device and need a user interface?

We design UI/UX for embedded systems, operator panels and industrial devices.
